The Hospitality Kit can increase the comfort and safety of people who are Deaf or hard of hearing when hiring standard accommodation by providing them with a range of resources that can be borrowed on an overnight or weekly basis.
The Kit includes:
- Sennheiser Set 810 (TV listening kit)
- Sennheiser Set 810S (TV listening kit for hearing aid users)
- Visual alert & flashing light for standard telephone
- Shake Awake vibrating alarm clock
- Uniphone 1150 (TTY telephone)
- Wirefree doorbell with flashing strobe light
Bookings for the Hospitality Kit are made through the Phillip Island Visitor Information Centre on 1300 366 422 or in person at 895 Phillip Island Road, Newhaven. For people who are Deaf or have a hearing or speach impairment please contact the centre on the The National Relay Service number 133 677 or via email on this website.
The Kit can be picked up and dropped off at the Phillip Island Visitor Information Centre at 895 Phillip Island Road, Newhaven. If you are staying elsewhere in Bass Coast we can also arrange for the Kit to be transferred free of charge to one of our other Visitor Information Centres located at Cowes, Inverloch or Wonthaggi.
Loan of the Kit is free however a $50.00 refundable deposit is required at the time of pick up and will be refunded upon safe return of the Hospitality Kit.
Pick up is from 2pm to 5pm. Return is by 12 noon on the final day of hire.
A loan agreement form must be filled out and signed at the time of pick up and payment.
The Hospitality Kit is a project of the RuralAccess program, ensuring accommodation venues are more accessible for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
