Description: The Sydney Melbourne Coastal Drive is 1033 km / 642 miles, approx 19 hours driving (this is not a direct Melbourne to Sydney route).  

The drive  offers many opportunities to explore the coastal hinterland, including historic hamlets such as Walhalla and Tilba, or the Mornington Peninsula's fabulous food, wine, golf and spa offerings. Swim with with Australian Fur Seals at Montague island or visit the work famous Little Penguin Parade on Phillip island. With so much to see and do, Sydney Melbourne Coastal Drive is an essential Australian touring experience for you to tick all the boxes on your Australian holiday! 

We suggest no less than seven days to give you time out to explore the lovely beachside towns, food, wine and attractions along the way. Don't forget to plan in a few extra days to spend around Bass Coast and Phillip Island as there is much to see, do and explore.
