Skate Parks Inverloch, Wonthaggi and Phillip Island

Riding skateboards, roller blades, BMXs and scooters are popular activities among many local youth and visitors to the region.

Location: The three skate parks at Inverloch, Wonthaggi and Cowes are managed and/or supervised by YMCA Action Sports. The YMCA operates skate events, demonstrations and competitions across the Shire in partnership with local skate and surf shops, please visit their website for the latest information on upcoming events. 

  • Phillip Island Skate Park: Cowes Park, Chapel Street, Cowes - The Phillip Island Skate park is located directly behind the YMCA Phillip Island Leisure Centre. Complete with fun boxes and rails, Phillip Island skate park is a great facility for all abilities and ages. 
  • Wonthaggi Skate Park: Korumburra Road, Wonthaggi - Wonthaggi skate park is just 100 metres from the Bass Coast Aquatic & Leisure Centre beside the netball courts. Wonthaggi skate park incorporates a wide range of different skating terrains including a 7ft bowl, as well as rails, boxes and ledges for all ability levels. 
  • Inverloch Skate Park: Reilly Street, Inverloch  - Just opposite Inverloch Community Centre you’ll find Inverloch Skate Park. Inverloch Skate Park has a wide range of different skating obstacles for all ability levels. There’s a beginners bowl, mini ramp, grind bar, quarter pipe and gun box, so there’s plenty on offer. 
  • Mobile Skate Park: Travels to Corinella, Coronet Bay, Grantville and Newhaven on a rotation basis, call Bass Coast Shire Council on 5671 2211 for details.

Safety Tips: The skate parks are supervised by first aid qualified staff from the YMCA, for further information call 5952 2811 or 5672 4194.  Remember that injuries can easily be prevented by wearing basic protective gear - so make sure you wear it!
