WACKY WIRE BASKETS or BARMY BIRDCAGES with Regina Dudek
Regina Dudek has been creating her unique wire and metal pieces for over 20 years and has run many workshops both here in Victoria and in WA at the Fremantle Arts Centre. The techniques employed are simple and low tech which makes it so easy for you to create a decorative rustic wire basket.
Do you crave the unusual – the off beat – and want to make it yourself. Try making your own Whacky Wire Basket on 17 April. Or perhaps making a Barmy Birdcage is more you style. Then 15 May will be the date to put in your diary. You will learn simple wire working techniques such as twisting, bending, spiralling and binding. Your creation can then be embellished with beads, chandelier crystals, keys, old jewellery components or any other similar “treasures”. Bring along your own treasures to make it truly yours. Materials provided include wire and some assorted beads. Use of tools provided but if you do have pliers or wire cutters please bring them along.
