Phillip Island Pro QS1000
Thursday 3rd November - Sunday 6th November
The World Surf League Australian Qualifying Series will return to Victoria’s Bass Coast this November with the Phillip Island Pro bringing aspiring World Tour surfers to the region.
Boasting some of the best waves in Australia, Phillip Island will allow surfers to gather points in the race for positions in the 2023 WSL Challenger Series.
There has been a last minute change of location for the opening of the Phillip Island Pro at 7.30am Thursday. The event will move from Cape Woolamai to Summerlands at the Penguin Parade on the main stand.
The surfing will be at Summerlands both Thursday and Friday, at this stage, and move back to Cape Woolamai for Saturday and Sunday.
The event to be held from November 3-6 will include a World Surf League Qualifying Series (QS) 1000 rated event for both Men and Women as well as the Victorian round of the Hyundai Australian Boardriders Battle. The Victorian Indigenous Invitational will also continue the tradition at this event showcasing the best Indigenous Victorian surfers against each other in pumping waves.
The QS1000 event boasts $20,000 in prize money split equally between the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
The event provides amazing opportunities for Victorians to gather experience against Australia’s best up and coming talent whilst also gaining points for qualification onto the Challenger Series, the pathway to qualifying for the World Tour.
