Kilcunda, Archies Creek & Dalyston
Kilcunda is a hidden gem located between Phillip Island and Wonthaggi. It’s a place to linger over lunch, spend the day cycling or walking and taking in the breathtaking views.
Kilcunda is a great base for your getaway. Crystal clear rock pools, long sandy beaches and idyllic rural retreats, Kilcunda is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. It is near two great walks – the George Bass Coastal Walk to San Remo and the Bass Coast Rail Trail that heads back towards Wonthaggi.
After a morning walk or bike ride on the Bass Coast Rail Trail, stroll up to the local pub or café for coffee or lunch with a view. Love fresh seafood?! Then don’t miss out on the annual Kilcunda Lobster Festival held at the end of January.
Away from the coast, roads wind through the hinterland and eventually lead to Archies Creek where the historic local pub holds a selection of memorabilia. Further on along the coast is the small township of Dalyston featuring the Dalyston Hall and the old Dalyston Church which was built in 1901 and is now a cafe.
