Description

We are a registered not-for-profit Neighbourhood House and Learn Local organisation providing a wide range of community services and learning opportunities to support the needs of our community. We believe in building a strong, safe and vibrant community that facilitates social inclusion and values diversity.

Our programs and activities include social and peer support groups, arts and crafts, workplace training, and pathways to further study and employment. Each week members of our community enjoy our safe, friendly and stimulating environment in which every individual is informed and empowered to achieve to their full potential.

PICAL provides a vital service to those experiencing hardship through our emergency food relief program known as the Phil Dixon Emergency Food Relief Pantry. Support is also offered through welfare service referrals, employment services and a Centrelink agency. The PICAL Community Garden supplies fresh produce to our pantry and has many opportunities for horticulture training, organic vegetable and fruit growing workshops, and local food swaps. Rooms are available to hire by individuals or groups for meetings, training and activities.

PICAL relies on the assistance of our valuable community volunteers. We offer many opportunities for volunteer participation in all aspects of our activities and welcome the involvement of our local community.
