Description
Rhyll Inlet is a world renowned habitat for migratory waders and resident birds, and it's tranquil mangroves and wetlands are listed under the Ramsar Convention as having international importance.
Along the Conservation Hill and Rhyll Inlet Walks you'll find an array of boardwalks that loop through the mangroves, saltmarsh and mudflats. You may even be treated to the presence of spoonbills, oyster catchers, herons, egrets and cormorants.
Location: The track starts at the Conservation Hill car park off the Cowes-Rhyll Rd and continues along Rhyll Inlet to Rhyll
- Mangrove Boardwalk – 1.2km return / 25 minutes walking return
- McIlwraith Road Lookout – 4.5km return / 1 hour walking return
- Rhyll Village – 7km return / 2 ½ hours return
- Grading is Easy/Moderate
- Surface is compacted granitic sand, boardwalk and grass
- Toilets at Conservation Hill car park
